Programs
The City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department is excited to welcome gardeners of all skill levels to the Port Aransas Community Garden! This vibrant initiative offers residents the opportunity to cultivate fresh produce, nurture beautiful plants, and foster meaningful connections with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
By adopting a garden plot, participants are not only growing their own food but also contributing to a shared space dedicated to sustainability, education, and community engagement. The garden promotes organic practices, responsible water use, and a commitment to maintain shared areas for the benefit of all.
To ensure the success of the garden, members are required to register with the Parks and Recreation Community Program Coordinator and pay a small annual fee of $20, which helps support garden maintenance and shared resources. In return, gardeners gain access to a 4ft x 8ft plot and are encouraged to participate in donation efforts by contributing fresh produce to the Helping Hands Food Pantry twice a year.
The Port Aransas Community Garden is more than just a place to grow food—it's a hub for learning, sharing, and building a strong sense of community. Whether you are an experienced gardener or a beginner looking to learn, we invite you to join us in this rewarding experience.
For more information on garden guidelines, registration, and available plots, please contact the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department at (361) 749-4158.
